Our mission is to empower the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Thailand by providing unwavering support, creating a nurturing environment, and advocating for democratic education. We believe that education is a powerful tool for change and development, and we extend our commitment to supporting students, teachers, and volunteers alike in their journey towards a brighter future.

What We Do

  • We provide grants for impoverished vulnerable children to attend Children’s Village Thailand.

  • We provide scholarships for Children’s Village’s older students to attend high school and University.

  • We provide subsidies and grants for U.S. students, teachers and volunteers to travel to Children’s village and study/volunteer.

Our Team

  • Marvin Blunte

    Executive Director

    Marvin is a 25 year film and television veteran. After directing a documentary about Children’s Village, he decided to found a non profit dedicated to the school and the children of Thailand after overwhelming cries of public support .

    His best decision was joining forces with four remarkable women with extensive experience in the nonprofit and education sectors. Together, they form the ideal team, and he hopes his media expertise will help keep their cause in the public spotlight.

    Charinee Philips

    Chief Governance Officer

    Charinee has spent over 15 years managing projects that promote trade and tourism for Thai government agencies in the United States.

    Passionate about travel, food, and community service, she actively volunteers with organizations such as Pencils for Kids Inc., the Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association, and various Thai associations.

    Her dedication to social causes has earned her recognition from President Obama and the City of Los Angeles.

    Ellen Cowhey

    Chief Financial Officer

    Ellen Cowhey spent three formative years as a teacher of English at Moo Baan Dek in Thailand, where she first learned about the importance of preparing students to participate as democratic citizens by witnessing them practice democracy in their school system.

    Today, she serves as the director of the Journalism Collaborative at The Masters School in New York, where she encourages students to practice democracy by investigating, writing and reporting the truth in their local community via newspaper, web, social media and broadcast journalism.

    Ladawan Sondak

    International Volunteer Liason

    Ladawan Sondak has been a dedicated professional in the film and television industry for over 30 years, specializing in production logistics across Thailand and Vietnam.

    Beyond her work in media, she serves as a media advisor and publicist for The Association of Northeast Thailand Community Network and The association of Mekong Youth, supporting communities and the youth across seven provinces in Northeast Thailand along the Mekong Basin.

    Passionate about education and advocacy, she also acts as an international liaison for Friends of Children's Village School. In her personal life, Ladawan is a devoted animal lover, with a special affection for cats.

  • Sotida  Arpon

    Sotida Arpronphalitphan

    International Communications Manager

    Sotida Arpronphalitphan is a certified Thai-English interpreter and translator based in California, providing expert language services in legal, medical, and educational settings. Passionate about community service, Sotida volunteers as an interpreter for the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF), assisting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

    Beyond her work in language services, she is also an actress, dancer, and producer, showcasing her talents in the entertainment industry. A lover of food, art, and all things fun, Sotida enjoys exploring new culinary experiences, immersing herself in creative expression, and embracing life with joy and curiosity.
